Buddhist Teachings

Dalai Lama The compassionate Buddha was able to become enlightened because the essence of even the contaminated mind is emptiness, the ultimate reality. It is because of this that faults can be eliminated, qualities can be cultivated, and the omniscient mind can be attained. Likewise, we too can make the attempt. If we rely on a continuous practice of virtue like the uninterrupted flow of water, we have the natural resources to improve from life to life. The ultimate essence is within us by nature, and we do not have to cultivate it afresh.

H.H. The Dalai Lama
